About us

Who are we?

We are the Real Estate team within Orange Romania, responsible for managing the portfolio of properties owned by the company. This includes a variety of spaces nationwide, covering both urban and rural areas.

Where do the real estate properties in Orange's offer come from?

The story begins in 1881, over 140 years ago, with the establishment of the state company responsible for landline telephone services and telecommunications infrastructure in Romania (renamed Romtelecom in 1990 and Telekom Romania Communications in 2015). Over time, the company evolved and modernized, becoming one of the most important telecommunications operators in the country.

In September 2021, Orange completed the acquisition of the company, and in June 2024 it finalized a merger by absorption of the new company. Thus, its infrastructure and assets were integrated into Orange’s portfolio, including real estate, some of which are heritage buildings. One example is the Telephone Palace in Bucharest, inaugurated in 1933, the first skyscraper in Romania and an emblematic symbol of interwar Art Deco movement, featuring a metal structure that emulated American towers and marking the modernization of the capital. Orange Romania has invested significantly in renovating the building, both to preserve the historical spaces and to expand the company’s operations.

Initially, telecommunications technologies required large spaces for equipment. Today, thanks to technological advances, space utilization has become much more efficient. In addition, the centralization of operations and the relocation of employees to modern facilities have freed up many buildings or spaces that are no longer used entirely for the company’s core activity.

The Orange Group’s real estate policy is to make the most of every space in its portfolio. Accordingly, we, Orange Romania, are offering for sale certain owned properties and spaces that are no longer necessary for our current operations, to ensure they gain a new purpose and, at the same time, in the hope that we can restore the former glory of some iconic buildings that are technologically incompatible with the company’s needs.
